1/20-1/21 sculpted Hats: Wet Felted Millinery

Working with Pacific Northwest grown wool roving and olive oil soap, each student will shape and create a custom felted hat. Learn how to make a hood pattern and felt in 3D using a wet resist. Blocking and shaping will be done with the assistance of a variety of unique hat molds to choose from. As well as your head. Make sure to bring dry extra clothes. This class will clean everything but potentially leave your sleeves and collar a little water logged. Olive oil soap makes this felting class a good choice for sensitive skin or allergies. Saturday 2-6 Sunday12-4

Northwind Arts: Needle Felted Mending

Learn the art of needle felting and beautify your favorite garments while doing it. This class will have you wishing you had more garments in your closet with frayed cuffs and holey sleeves, just so you can revitalize them with a felted appliqué. Choose a small project that you can tackle and start to wear your imperfections with pride! Must bring your own garments to adorn. This is a great beginner's class. Experienced needle felters are also welcome and can be independently accommodated to advance their skills.

Learn the art of sculptural felt and make a hat formed for your head alone. Mikal leads you into the refined craft of handmade millinery, using wool roving and wet resist felt techniques.
