Create your own fuzzy lined crown fit for any royal child. Make puppets to play with and gruffalo masks to delight. Leave with monster horns to wear for any occasion. Ages 4+
Explore the beautiful world of the sea through beach adventures and art. Spend half the day at the beach with the Port Townsend Marine Science Center. Make finger crochet octopi, needle felted orcas, and sewn starfishes with arts educator Myco. Every day crafts, stories, and games to play. Learn more about the ocean and all its delightful creatures! Ages 7-10
The love of Star Wars spans across generations and galaxies. Join us this Summer for play, story, and crafts all based on the Star Wars saga. Forge lightsabers, sew yoda ears, needle felt ewoks, and craft the cutest Jawa the universe has ever seen. Costumes encouraged as we forge through the woods of Natembea. Ages 7+

Join us at the Finnriver Haybarn on Saturday, March 30th from 12-6pm, for a spring celebration of 2slgbtqia+ makers on the Olympic Peninsula.
Working with Pacific Northwest grown wool roving and olive oil soap, each student will shape and create a custom felted hat. Learn how to make a hood pattern and felt in 3D using a wet resist. Blocking and shaping will be done with the assistance of a variety of unique hat molds to choose from. As well as your head. Make sure to bring dry extra clothes. This class will clean everything but potentially leave your sleeves and collar a little water logged. Olive oil soap makes this felting class a good choice for sensitive skin or allergies. Often there are delicious berries to eat and a sweet small creek to wade in. All activities will be held outside. Come play and let your wild nature free! Ages 4+

Come make your own felted brooches and adorn yourself! We will take felted sweaters and transform them into beautiful flowers. These flowers can be made into hair accessories, hat pins, or used to decorate clothing. Why pick a flower when you can make one! Upcycling at its best. Prior sewing experience not required.

Learn the art of needle felting and beautify your favorite garments while doing it. This class will have you wishing you had more garments in your closet with frayed cuffs and holey sleeves, just so you can revitalize them with a felted appliqué. Choose a small project that you can tackle and start to wear your imperfections with pride! Must bring your own garments to adorn. This is a great beginner's class. Experienced needle felters are also welcome and can be independently accommodated to advance their skills.

In this workshop you will learn how to needle felt and sculpt wool roving into charming gnomes to give as one-of-a-kind, handmade gifts or keep all for yourself. Learn the art of sculptural felt and make a hat formed for your head alone. Mikal leads you into the refined craft of handmade millinery, using wool roving and wet resist felt techniques. You will also learn blocking and shaping with the use of hat molds, and you’ll get creative with milliner’s ribbon to create fashionable hatbands.You will leave this class with a truly couture handmade felt hat! This class is inspired by the vast array of PNW wildflowers. The unique and beautiful art form of needle felt painting will be taught. Students will choose from a selection of images to replicate. Come and learn a new needle felting method created by instructor Mikal to be able to transfer any image you want onto wool after this beginning intro. Come and celebrate Finnriver Apple Day and make a sweet little Pippin before the music starts. What are Pippins? They are the fae of the apples! Their story can be found in the children’s book Rupert and the Apple Trees. Learn needle felting techniques with community fiber arts educator Mikal and bring home a sweet keepsake for Fall.
