Crafty Creatives Summer Camp: Dyeing/Felting

Let your love of creation be your guide. Seeking artists who want to explore new territory and enrich their knowledge of the earliest fiber arts. Week 1 - We will use alchemy to dye animal fibers. With these transformed materials we make vessels to hold our felted treasures. Week 2 - We will create felt portraits using the modern art of needle felting. Now of course every artist needs a thinking cap. Thus we will felt hats and learn the old art of millinery. Ages-8-17. Tuition- $200/week.

Currently Pending Minimum Enrollment: Beavers, bobcats, and barred owls, OH MY! Who has been eating this leaf?! Will this grass help our fire grow bigger?! What colors do we see in this frog's camouflage?! So many questions and so much to explore in this incredible, living world! Join us for learning through play! We will do everything the big kids do in a developmentally appropriate way. Making fires, tracking animals, learning bird language, building shelters, sitting quietly and connecting with the forest.Each day will be filled with games, stories, and getting plenty dirty! July 17-20 4-6 years old. July 24-27 6-8 years old. $150-$200/week Sliding Scale + $50 registration (Once per year for all programs at Tracks and Tales).

Come create a symbolic felt masterpiece. Bring an image that is meaningful for you – an animal, a self portrait, a flower or a symbol. We will utilize felted sweaters for our canvas. Instruction on color tones, shading, proportions and angles will be covered, as well as exploring needle felting techniques for wool painting. Ages 8+
